A one sentence sound bite is the method of the main stream media. It is emotional. It is intended to incite.
A vibrant young commentator wants instantaneous correct answers according to his judgment and knowledge. Volker was not prepared to give meaningful sound bites. And, his point of reference is from his world view and not the young Turk’s
Where is the economic analysis of Volker’s jabbering? Yes he only partially answered Schiff’s question. However, his answer was from his point of view, not Peter’s. While I do not agree with his view, you cannot always get a succinct answer to question by a right wing questioner addressed to a left wing bureaucrat.
The above quote by host suggests all who read understand his economic understanding. But, that cannot be assumed. When information not present is assumed the chance for meaningful persuasive reasoning is lost.
Each and every time, it is important to present the reasoning to support your opinion so as to persuade the undecided or those who might be persuaded.
