Deconstructing the Jewishness of the Frankfurt School

““The Frankfurt School, Jewish Lives, and Antisemitism” is in part biographically based, revealing the essence of thinker’s’ hearts and lives while avoiding anecdotal trivia. As the political historian Zvi Rosen has noted,, Max Horkheimer wrote about anti-Semitism starting around the time of his military service in World War I. Previously, school classmates had screamed “Jew!” at Horkheimer, but it was as a soldier, as he remarked in a letter home from 1917, that he was “regarded with spiteful apprehension because I am Jewish.” Citing these and other examples, Jacobs convincingly refutes Martin Jay, an historian of the Frankfurt School who claimed that Horkheimer was guilty of a “facile dismissal of specifically Jewish problems.” To the contrary, the German Jewish sociologist Leo Löwenthal (1900–1993), yet another associate of the Frankfurt School, asserted that “in his thinking, [Horkheimer] was always very conscious of the Jewish heritage.”

“Such clarifications are useful because although professional writings before their exile from Germany were not explicitly about Jewish matters, “Dialectic of Enlightenment” and “The Authoritarian Personality,” also co-authored by Adorno, would be “deeply colored by the desire to elucidate and confront hatred of Jews,” Jacobs reminds us.

“In 1937, in a letter to the German Jewish literary scholar Hans Mayer, Horkheimer claimed that anti-intellectualism “represents sexual envy and resentment of a pleasurable attitude toward life of which one doesn’t feel oneself capable. Hatred of the Jews has always been hatred of thinking, and naturally the Jews themselves are also in large measure animated by this.”

“This foreknowledge continued with personal ruminations by Adorno, born Theodor Ludwig Wiesengrund in Frankfurt to a Catholic mother and Jewish father who had converted to Protestantism. Adorno’s identification as a Jew grew along with European persecution, as noted in a February 1938 letter to Horkheimer. Written the day before Adorno fled Europe for America, the letter predicted that any Jews who stayed in Germany would be “extirpated,” which went against the then-more hopeful attitudes of German Jews.”

After 50,000 years, it seems that we can finally defeat gender inequality!

It seems the great evil of our time, is caused not by discrimination but by the choices people make. The culprits are not all men per say, but the married ones. It is only MARRIED men who seem incentivized to unfairly over-work and over-earn.

So, comrades. The solution is clear. Destroy the married man!

The present is filled with hard work and unwavering dedication! The future is bright and glorious! It is only our past which is dark and unknown!

When Republicans invoke God or religious faith as an inspiration for their political views, it’s threatening and creepy. When Democrats do it, it’s a sign they believe in social justice.—

Distribution differences. I’ve been writing about this for years. Libertarians are smarter than progressives, progressives are smarter than middle left and conservatives. Smart conservatives identify as libertarian, smart leftists identify as progressive. by comparing the minority elite against the majority the conclusion is obvious. This bit is an interesting explanation: People who vote republican are smarter than people who vote democrat. Why? Distributions.

Besides, these self-identifying things don’t tell us much. Instead, look at voting patterns: class, race, income, religion, country of origin, marital status, education and attractiveness determine your voting preferences. Single women vote left and that is the left’s appeal since single women are so significant that they tilt the majority distribution (in america.). Single women guarantee left movement, married women right movement. The rest is noise. We vote our status signaling, which means we vote our reproductive strategies in competition with one another. Not surprising.

Conservatives are better looking. The world appears more just and fair than it does to people who are less good looking. (Data on this since I think the 70’s? Remains constant.) People give you more time and attention, treat you more positively, and you make more money. etc. Also roughly equates: genetic, social, and economic classes are highly correlated. This means the status quo is a positive. ie: conservatism.

On the other hand, the way it works is this: 87% of republicans are white. And the republican party is increasing in its ‘whiteness’. The democratic party is increasing in its brownness (non whiteness). The academy is largely underclass, and business is largely middle and upper middle class. non-whites vote left and white single women vote left. Obvious stuff really: successful families wanna hold what they make, and underclasses want to take it. Simple.
