Waterboarding used 266 times on 2 suspects to get 9/11 “confession”

“The C.I.A. officers used waterboarding at least 83 times in August 2002 against Abu Zubaydah, according to a 2005 Justice Department legal memorandum. Abu Zubaydah has been described as a Qaeda operative.

A former C.I.A. officer, John Kiriakou, told ABC News and other news media organizations in 2007 that Abu Zubaydah had undergone waterboarding for only 35 seconds before agreeing to tell everything he knew.

The 2005 memo also says that the C.I.A. used waterboarding 183 times in March 2003 against Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the self-described planner of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. . . .

Mr. Obama said C.I.A. officers who had used waterboarding and other harsh interrogation methods with the approval of the Justice Department would not be prosecuted. He has repeatedly suggested that he opposes Congressional proposals for a ‘truth commission’ to examine Bush administration counterterrorism programs, including interrogation and warrantless eavesdropping.” (Read more from nytimes.com)

“The US Air Force Shot Down Flight 93”

From georgewashington.blogspot.com:

The following comment was posted to my blog today (I do not know who the author is — he posted semi-anonymously; so decide for yourself whether or not you believe him):

“I am an Air Force veteran. I was serving at Langley AFB, Virginia on Sept. 11. (not to be confused with CIA headquarters at Langley, VA). The “Alert Squadron” of 4 F-16 Falcons also stationed at Langley AFB was scrambled AFTER the “plane” crashed into the Pentagon. Because of my position as a ground equipment mechanic, I had access to the flightline operations that day. My friends were Crew Cheifs and Weapons Loaders, among other professions on the flightline that day. One of my [unusual] duties that day was to drive a Loader (personal friend) along with a rack of live missiles (AIM-9’s and AIM-120’s) across the active runway to the Alert Squadron and drop them off. I was towing equipment to the flightline, so when it was time to go back and pick up the Loader (and our missile trailer) I was unable to do so, but another member of my Flight (a good friend, and later roommate) did go. According to my roommate (and I later confirmed with the Loader) the Loader was completely silent most of the trip back to our side of the base, after they crossed the active, he spoke. “They shot one down.” JJ replied “WHAT?” Loader:”One of those 16’s came back with one less missile than it left with” That was all. As they pulled back in to the squadron area, The loader was whisked away by his commanders for debriefing. I didn’t see him for a few days, but when I did, he said he couldn’t talk about it, but he confirmed that what my roommate had told me was true.

The US Air Force shot down Flight 93. I haven’t told this to many people. I told my parents and other family members shortly after I left the military. They didn’t believe it. I figured no one else would either. I kept my mouth shut. Everyone was dedicated to the president and the country (not really) And anything that went against the Official, media delivered story was viewed as unpatriotic. I knew that I loved this country, so I kept my mouth shut. I just can’t do that anymore. I know that I don’t have any documents to prove it, and I have no way of knowing where the others involved are now days, so I can’t prove anything. All I have is my word. and with God as my witness that is the truth.”

CIA destroys 9/11 “confession” tapes

These were the tapes on which terror suspects “confessed” to 9/11.

CIA admits ‘terror tapes’ destroyed
“The US Central Intelligence Agency has destroyed 92 tapes of interrogations of ‘terror’ suspects, far more than previously acknowledged, the agency has said.

The disclosure on Monday came in a letter filed by US government lawyers as part of a lawsuit brought by a US rights group over interrogation programmes operated under the Bush administration following the September 11, 2001 attacks.

‘The large number of videotapes destroyed confirms that the agency engaged in a systematic attempt to hide evidence of its illegal interrogations,’ Amrit Singh of the American Civil Liberities Union (ACLU) said in a statement.

The ACLU, which filed the suit, said the CIA should be held in contempt of court for previously withholding the information.” (Read more from english.aljazeera.net)

Feds probably won’t charge anyone for destroying CIA tapes
“Even though he has yet to complete his investigation, a federal prosecutor has already signaled that he is unlikely to indict any CIA employees for incinerating 92 secret interrogation tapes that purportedly show suspects being waterboarded.” (Read more from rawstory.com)

9/11 Family member refuses victims compensation, demands answers

by Beverly Eckert

“I’ve chosen to go to court rather than accept a payoff from the 9/11 victims compensation fund. Instead, I want to know what went so wrong with our intelligence and security systems that a band of religious fanatics was able to turn four U.S passenger jets into an enemy force, attack our cities and kill 3,000 civilians with terrifying ease. I want to know why two 110-story skyscrapers collapsed in less than two hours and why escape and rescue options were so limited. . . .” (Read more from commondreams.org)

Top Counter-Terrorism Experts Question 9/11

“Counter-terrorism experts presumably have some insight into terrorism, right?

In fact, numerous high-level counter-terrorism experts question the government’s investigation of – and explanation for – 9/11.

For example:

  • Terrell (Terry) E. Arnold was the number 2 counter-terrorism official at the U.S. State Department, and is one of the world’s leading experts on terror. Arnold served as the Deputy Director, Office of Counter-Terrorism and Emergency Planning, at the U.S. State Department. He is also the former Chairman of the Department of International Studies at the National War College. Arnold is skeptical of the government’s explanation for 9/11
  • Bogdan Dzakovic was a 14-year counter-terrorism expert in the Security Division of the Federal Aviation Administration. Dzakovic was Team Leader of the FAA’s Red (Terrorism) Team, which conducted undercover tests on airport security through simulated terrorist attacks. Dzakovic said about the 9/11 Commission:

“The best I could say about it is they really botched the job by not really going into the real failures. … At worst, I think the 9/11 Commission Report is treasonous.”

  • John Loftus, former Federal Prosecutor, Office of Special Investigations, U.S. Department of Justice under Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan; former U.S. Army Intelligence officer, and currently a widely-sought media commentator on terrorism and intelligence services questions the government’s version of 9/11

9/11 Truth on “Rescue Me” episode

A coming episode of the acclaimed FX drama “Rescue Me” will tackle what may sound like a far-fetched plot line: that the attacks of Sept. 11 were an “inside job.” The actor who espouses the theories on camera, it turns out, also subscribes to them in real life. Claims that Al Qaeda terrorists were not solely responsible for the attacks have a lively following on the Internet, including on YouTube, but the second episode of “Rescue Me’s” fifth season, starting in April, may represent the first fictional presentation of 9/11 conspiracy theories by a mainstream media company (FX is operated by the News Corporation). “They’re not discussed a lot in the press,” Daniel Sunjata, the actor who plays Franco Rivera on “Rescue Me,” told reporters at a television press tour last month. FBI Declares Lack of Evidence to Connect Bin Laden to 9/11

This past weekend, a thought provoking e-mail circulated through Internet news groups, and was sent to the Muckraker Report by Mr. Paul V. Sheridan (Winner of the 2005 Civil Justice Foundation Award), bringing attention to the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist web page for Osama Bin Laden. In the e-mail, the question is asked, “Why doesn’t Osama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster make any direct connection with the events of September 11, 2001?” The FBI says on its Bin Laden web page that Osama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998 bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. According to the FBI, these attacks killed over 200 people. The FBI concludes its reason for “wanting” Bin Laden by saying, “In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorists attacks throughout the world.”

On June 5, 2006, the Muckraker Report contacted the FBI Headquarters, (202) 324-3000, to learn why Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster did not indicate that Osama was also wanted in connection with 9/11. The Muckraker Report spoke with Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI. When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page, Tomb said, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Osama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.” (Read more from farsnews.com)
