Incomplete and irresponsible to ignore the failed 1919 Bolshevik revolution in Germany. As I keep pointing out, Snyder’s gig is to sanitize history.

We are going to have fascism again unless we grow up and acknowledge that its rise in the 20s and 30s was a reaction to communism.

The same reaction is happening today, just against cultural marxists instead of economic ones.

I remain alarmed that the rhetoric is evolving as if with Machiavellian intent, exactly as it did in South Africa.

This article uses a very DANGEROUS conflation of words. The author should be severely punished for inciting violence against Europeans.

ove over George Zimmerman, you notorious “white Hispanic”, you! There’s a new sheriff in town, or rather anthropologist, and she knows who’s “white” or a “whiter”−non−White better than even CNN!

The sheriff in question (and we apologize if using the term “sheriff” is perceived as racist by anyone) is MSNBC’s “news” anchor Melissa Harris-Perry, who said Friday that, as with George Zimmerman, the three black police officers charged in the death of Baltimore’s Freddie Gray are not African-American, but are in fact “white’ African-Americans”.

French hypocrisy over anti-Muslim, anti-Jewish rhetoric

Ha! The very same French journalist expresses indignation 1) at Muslims who cannot tolerate ridicule 2) at a Muslim for ridiculing Jews.

Some people invoke general principles and sacrifice for them. That is building a commons. Others invoke general principles when suitable to their tribe.

Europeans needs to demand universalism as a condition for extending it, as a condition for living in European society. Leave that tribal stuff in whatever backwater you come from, and we’re cool. Bring that tribal stuff here, and we’ll punish you for it.

The Cathedral’s double standard.

—Peaceful, law-abiding tea-party groups who cleaned up after their protests — and got legal permits for them — were signs of nascent fascism lurking in the American soul. Violent, anarchic, and illegal protests by Occupy Wall Street a few years ago or, more recently, in Ferguson, Mo., were proof that a new idealistic generation was renewing its commitment to idealism.

When rich conservatives give money to Republicans, it is a sign that the whole system has been corrupted by fat cats. When it is revealed that liberal billionaires and left-wing super PACs outspent conservative groups in 2014: crickets.

When Republicans invoke God or religious faith as an inspiration for their political views, it’s threatening and creepy. When Democrats do it, it’s a sign they believe in social justice.—
