Cocaine Addicted Monkeys & the Economic Stimulus

A North Carolina man says a study of cocaine-addicted monkeys at Wake Forest University Medical
School is an example of a federal stimulus fund boondoggle.

Brian Balfour, an analyst with Civitas Institute, said the cocaine addition project was in the top spot of the “10 worst federal stimulus projects in North Carolina,” The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer said. (Read more from upi.com)

  1. so… of course, if you look at it from the perspective that the govt shouldnt ever be funding any of this stuff anyways, all of this stuff seems ridiculous. but, at least for the stuff related to scientific research (monkey cocaine), its hard to tell the utility of a particular study out of context, and actually the glutamate system is emerging as possibility the next new thing in mental health research with a lot of speculation of its relationship to psychosis, so, im not sure this is as frivolous as it sounds.

    but why is NC so into dance????
