coke is bottled locally – a couple years ago they got a lot of shit for depleting drinking water supplies in areas of india, so its most likely that the pesticides are coming from the groundwater itself. pesticide contamination is rampant in india, its def not just coke and pepsi.
though, id imagine soda could be good for crops too as they have phosphates and sugars. ;)
