Global Warming Predictions Are Overestimated, Suggests Study On Black Carbon
Okay, I want to be careful about overstating the significance of a single study (thanks for the hint, Esoteridactyl). My goal is not to condemn all gobal warming believers, and certainly not to condemn environmentalist. (I consider myself one.) My goal is to expose what I believe to be government-and-media-backed hysteria, and the possibility of it being leveraged for profit and power by our ruling elite.
I’m curious about the Exchange Traded Funds GWO, which seems to relate to Global Warming, and GRN which seems to relate to Carbon Trading. I’m no expert and would welcome any comments pertaining to how these work. It certainly isn’t a bad thing to invest on what you believe the future might bring, but it’s important to be mindful that profit and power might color people’s intentions.
“A detailed analysis of black carbon — the residue of burned organic matter — in computer climate models suggests that those models may be overestimating global warming predictions. . . . The researchers found that carbon dioxide emissions from soils were reduced by about 20 percent over 100 years, as compared with simulations that did not take black carbon’s long shelf life into account. The findings are significant because soils are by far the world’s largest source of carbon dioxide, producing 10 times more carbon dioxide each year than all the carbon dioxide emissions from human activities combined.” (emphasis added) (Read more from sciencedaily.com)
Al Gore will launch the international soil monitoring league. We’ll be taxed in its name. Their central planners will supervise the filling of rockets with dirt and launch them into outter space. . . or else we will be doomed! Doooooomed! DOOOOOOMED!

The price of dissent on global warming
“WHEN I first stuck my head above the parapet to say I didn’t believe what we were being told about global warming, I had no idea what the consequences would be. I am a scientist and I have to follow the directions of science, but when I see that the truth is being covered up I have to voice my opinions.
According to official data, in every year since 1998, world temperatures have been getting colder, and in 2002 Arctic ice actually increased. Why, then, do we not hear about that? The sad fact is that since I said I didn’t believe human beings caused global warming, I’ve not been allowed to make a television program.
My absence has been noticed, because wherever I go I meet people who say: “I grew up with you on the television, where are you now?”
It was in 1996 that I criticised wind farms while appearing on children’s program Blue Peter, and I also had an article published in which I described global warming as poppycock. The truth is, I didn’t think wind farms were an effective means of alternative energy, so I said so. Back then, at the BBC you had to toe the line, and I wasn’t doing that. . . .
Yes, the lakes in Africa are drying up. But that’s not global warming. They’re drying up for the very simple reason that most of them have dams around them.
So the water once used by local people is now used in the production of cut flowers and vegetables for the supermarkets of Europe. One of Gore’s biggest clangers was saying that the Aral Sea in Uzbekistan was drying up because of global warming.
Well, everyone knows, because it was all over the news 20 years ago, that the Russians were growing cotton there at the time and that for every tonne of cotton you produce you use a vast amount of water. The thing that annoys me most is that there are genuine environmental problems that desperately require attention. I’m still an environmentalist, I’m still a Green and I’m still campaigning to stop the destruction of the biodiversity of the world. But money will be wasted on trying to solve this global warming “problem” that I would much rather was used for looking after the people of the world. . . .
I might not be on TV any more but I still go around the world campaigning about these important issues. For example, we must stop the destruction of tropical rainforests, something I’ve been saying for 35 years.
Mother nature will balance things out, but not if we interfere by destroying rainforests and overfishing the seas. That is where the real environmental catastrophe could occur.” (Read more from theaustralian.news.com.au)
Film-makers taking on our ‘global warming hysteria’
A new Irish film claims that climate change guru Al Gore is an alarmist and that those who think they are saving the planet are only hurting the poor. IF THE ADVANCE publicity is anything to go by, Not Evil Just Wrong will do for Al Gore what Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 did for George W Bush. “This is the film Al Gore and Hollywood don’t want you to see,” declares the website for the latest work by film-makers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer. Ethnic Conflict Stoked By Government Economic Intervention, Not Globalization, Study Finds
“According to Dr. Stephen Saideman and his former McGill Master’s student David Steinberg – now pursuing his doctorate at Northwestern University – the more government intervention there is in the local economy, the more likely interethnic violence and rebellion becomes. Conversely, the more economically open a society is, the less likely such violence becomes.” (Read more from sciencedaily.com)

Meat must be rationed to four portions a week, says report on climate change
“People will have to be rationed to four modest portions of meat and one litre of milk a week if the world is to avoid run-away climate change, a major new report warns.” (Read more from guardian.co.uk)
My global warming skepticism is rooted in suggestions like this one which implicitly call for massive government power – whether it be national government or global government. If the noise is part of a global-governance movement, we’re still in an early phase. The people still need to be made to believe. Continue the propaganda.
Arctic Sees Massive Gain in Ice Coverage
Of all the things I post on my blog, none is more reluctantly forgiven by my friends, as when I decline membership in what I perceive as the global warming cult. Environmentalism is important. Pollution and destruction of habitats can’t be overlooked. Sustainability is essential. But I don’t buy the media’s hysteria about global warming. I see too much political power and global governance and taxes and money in the global warming push.
This story will never make it into Television’s echo chamber.

I’ve had a number of friends tell me they agree with everything on my blog, except the global warming stuff. I’m a little ambivalent. I did find Al Gore’s talk very persuasive. Nevertheless, whenever the media dedicates itself to either making me scared, or making me hate someone (Iranians), all my bullshit detectors go off. I’m wary of the issue being leveraged to expand global governance.
I believe in the scientific community (for much of a life, I thought I’d be a part of it), though I recognize the lapses too, like their enthusiastic endorsement of eugenics at the turn of the previous century.
My recommendation is to shun the Big Media hype and read what actual climate scientists are saying: www.realclimate.org.
America’s Dying Honey Bees
(and what we hear about them)
It is an understatement to say that across the United States, honeybees are dying. Their population is crashing, 20 – 70% losses. What’s become known as “colony collapse disorder” is a bigger deal that you might think, because honeybees are essential for pollinating crops. Up to a third of our food production relies on honeybees for pollination.
A wide rift has emerged between mainstream media and the alternative press, with the latter focusing on the GM crops as the cause, the former focusing on everything but.
ABCNews: Virus May Be Causing Honeybees’ Deaths
NYTimes: “. . . viruses, fungus and poor bee nutrition . . . . mites . . . . insecticides”
NBCNews: Bee Killers? Pesticides are a probably cause
By contrast, globalresearch.ca published this story which examines the possibility of mites, parasites, cell phones, and genetically modified “terminator seeds,” and concludes that the GM crops are killing our honeybees. Here’s another indy press story that acknowledges the possibility of GM crops as the culprit.
For anyone who doubts GM crops are worth investigating, see this BBCNews story about GM pollen killing monarch butterflies.
For anyone who doubts our “free” press is capable of such overt deception, watch this clip about how Fox “News” buried the Monsanto story and fired the reporters who insisted on accurately reporting proven dangers about genetic engineering in milk production.
My Introduction to Global Warming Skepticism
Since I began reading conspiratorial blogs, the issue which surprised me most was their unanimous skepticism about global warming. Here is an example. I don’t doubt that carbon emission are extraordinarily high and that humans are having a profound and destructive influence on the environment and that measures need to be taken to preserve what’s in jeopardy and restore what’s lost, but I’ve slowly come to doubt global warming.
My biggest source of doubt is the disparity between big media and blogs. Big media (whom I’ve come to recognize as lying bastards) never misses a chance to hype global warming complete with terrifying portrayals of tidal waves hitting Manhattan, while stories like this one about volcanic activity melting Antarctica or this one about Mars getting hotter, seem consistently absent.
So why would they be lying? There is a theory (article here) that fear of global warming is being leveraged to create global institutions which would serve as a step toward global governance.
The approach of hijacking a popular movement for ulterior motives is familiar to me. In this interview film maker Aaron Russo talks about how bankers hijacked women suffrage to create an America in which all of us must work and pay taxes.
I’m putting the movie “11th hour” on the American Propaganda shelf, right next to “United 93.”

Cold Fusion
It seems impossible: nuclear reactions at room temperature, electro-chemists succeeding where nuclear physicists have long failed, elements changing — the stuff of alchemy. Yet many scientists can’t ignore it. They keep saying: “excess heat” and “tritium” and “helium” (byproducts of nuclear reactions). Skeptics have come down hard against cold fusion. Who dares to imagine the end of the fossil fuel age? MIT’s chief science journalist resigned over what he deemed a fraudulent rebuttal to cold fusion. Research is rarely funded, but continues. Private companies have formed around the technology.
The possibilities of cold fusion speak to everything that’s best about mankind. It is a rare opportunity to see ourselves as good, beautiful, ingenious and suited to create a better future for all.
Watch the five-part documentary, or skip to part three to be convinced it works.
