Benazier Bhutto: Osama Bin Laden is Dead

At about 6:10, during this inverview the former Pakistani Prime Minister says “Omar Sheik, the man who murderred Osama Bin Laden . . .”

One frequent theme on some of the more paranoid blogs I read is that Osama is a creation, or at least an agent of the United States whose purpose is to perpetuate and expand our wars. Some of the comments posted to this video speculate that she simply misspoke, others elaborate upon the conspiracy theory.

Sadly, Bhutto’s interviewer didn’t ask for a clarification.

UPDATE:

Great rebuttal by YouTube’s representative press:

Lakota Sioux Withdraw from All Treaties,
Declare Nation

Lakota Storyteller
Lakota Group Pushes for New Nation
Lakota Secede from U.S. and All Treaties
Lakota Feedom website: “We are the freedom loving Lakota from the Sioux Indian reservations of Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana who have suffered from cultural and physical genocide in the colonial apartheid system we have been forced to live under. We are in Washington DC to withdraw from the constitutionally mandated treaties to become a free and independent country. We are alerting the Family of Nations we have now reassumed our freedom and independence with the backing of Natural, International, and United States law.”

I’m very interested to see how this plays out. Allow me this comparison: imagine a foreign, unfriendly nation supplying the Lakota with money, guns, and training. This, I’m sorry to say, is what we’ve done, and continue to do.

William Faulkner: “The past is never over.”

YouTube Censoring

Watch Video which demonstrates censorship.

My Belief:

Big media has long been frightened of ceding their grip over public opinion to the information-rich internet. They’ve begun mitigating the risk is by making stars out of a very small number of web sites willing to censor anti-establishment views. The strategy hopes most of the public will not see dissenting opinions through the glare of their stars. This approach is evident in the language you hear on the evening news. Where they once said things like “internet search,” “video sharing websites” and in general, “on the internet,” they now say “Google,” “YouTube,” and “on MySpace.” So long as the masses read from a small number of sources, so long as the owners of those sources are cozy with the establishment, public opinion can continue to be manipulated. Popular websites never mentioned include Wikipedia and Craigslist, even though they offer communities as vast as those of the media darlings.

I realize this is a fairly conspiratorial view of the world. I don’t think it happens in a sinister way- no dark, smoke-filled rooms. If it happens, it’s more casual. To them, promoting “friendly” websites is analogous to putting one’s best foot forward -as described in the New Yorker article referenced in this earlier post.

The CIA and the JFK Assassination

This is why I don’t balk when Ron Paul discusses reigning in the CIA.

From an open letter by Oliver Stone (director of JFK), Norman Mailer, and others.

“It is disappointing to learn that the Central Intelligence Agency filed motions in federal court in May 2005 to block disclosure of records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy forty-one years ago. The spirit of the law is clear. The JFK Records Act of 1992, approved unanimously by Congress, mandated that all assassination-related records be reviewed and disclosed ‘immediately.’ When Morley filed his lawsuit in December 2003, thirteen published JFK authors supported his request for the records in an open letter to The New York Review of Books (www.nybooks.com/articles/16865). Eighteen months later, the CIA is still stonewalling. The agency now acknowledges that it possesses an undisclosed number of documents…which it will not release in any form. Thus records related to Kennedy’s assassination are still being hidden for reasons of ‘national security.'”

Massing the Media

Another great Bill Moyers Series:

Dec 14: FCC ignores overwhelming public opposition to more consolidation, and defies Congressional request to delay vote. (10 minute video)

Dec 18: The TRAITORS in the FCC, like Chairman Kevin Martin, defy both the public and the Congress, voting to allow monopoly control over media. (5 minute video)

This fight isn’t over. A public interest group is planning to sue, and N. Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan is introducing legislation to rescind the FCC ruling.

9/11 Lies

It doesn’t take a paranoid conspiracy theorist to realize Bush is lying about 9/11 in this video.

Also:

-Last week, Italy’s former president, Francesco Cossiga, made serious accusations regarding 9/11 in Italy’s largest newspaper (English/Italian), joining THESE military leaders, legal scholars, engineers, 9/11 commissioners, members of Congress, pilots, air-traffic controllers, victims’ family members, first responders, Christians, Muslims, and Jews in doubting the official account.
