U.N. vote on Palestinian State Could Force Israel’s Hand

open quoteWith revolutionary fervor sweeping the Middle East, Israel is under mounting pressure to make a far-reaching offer to the Palestinians or face a United Nations vote welcoming the State of Palestine as a member whose territory includes all of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Authority has been steadily building support for such a resolution in September, a move that could place Israel into a diplomatic vise. Israel would be occupying land belonging to a fellow United Nations member, land it has controlled and settled for more than four decades and some of which it expects to keep in any two-state solution. close quote (Read more from nytimes.com)

Government Under Fire as Radiation Is Found in Milk, Rain

open quoteRadiation from Japan rained on Berkeley during recent storms at levels that exceeded drinking water standards by 181 times and has been detected in multiple milk samples, but the U.S. government has still not published any official data on nuclear fallout here from the Fukushima disaster.

Dangers from radiation that is wafting over the United States from the Fukushima power plant disaster and falling with rain have been downplayed by government officials and others, who say its impacts are so fleeting and minor as to be negligible.

But critics say an absence of federal data on the issue is hampering efforts to develop strategies for preventing radioactive isotopes from accumulating in the nation’s food and water supplies.close quote (Read more from baycitizen.org)

We should stop being surprised when the government fails miserably at keeping us safe. Happy upcoming Tax Day everybody!

Yankee Secession

* “An isurrection once every 20 years is a wholesome feature of national life” ~ Thomas Jefferson

* “If there be any among us who wish to dissolve the union or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it.” ~ Jefferson during his first inaugural address

* Ironically, Jefferson imposed (and Madison enforced) the national embargo of 1807 which precipitated one of New England’s three attempts at secession in the early 19th century.

* New England Federalist resistance to 1812 draft.

* The vast majority of public opinion in Northern States supported southern secession in 1860. Long list of quotes from newspaper editorials.

Kangaroo Courts in the U.S.S.A. target gold / silver merchant

There is no way Von NotHaus’s coins could be confused with money. Some of the coverage of this story is disgusting: open quoteVon NotHaus designed the Liberty Dollar currency in 1998 and the Liberty coins were marked with the dollar sign ($); the words dollar, USA, Liberty, Trust in God (instead of In God We Trust); and other features associated with legitimate U.S. coinage.close quote

open quoteThe FBI won a three-count conviction against precious-metals dealer Bernard von NotHaus on March 18 for the “crime” of minting memento “dollars” in silver, and the FBI charged in a press release that making silver coins is “domestic terrorism.” Jurors came to the unanimous verdict after only two hours of deliberation.

“Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism,” U.S. Attorney Anne M. Tompkins said in a March 18 FBI press release boasting of the verdict.

Making silver coins is “domestic terrorism”? Really?

“While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country,” Tompkins added. “We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption, and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government.”close quote (Read more from thenewamerican.com)

Libya and the Obama Cult

If I try to excerpt this fantastic essay, I’ll end up pasting the whole thing. Please check it out:

On second though, here are a couple highlights:

open quoteThe clueless pawns who imagine themselves “leaders” of the conservative movement are so busy conjuring far-fetched visions of Sharia law taking over America, that they’re caught flat-footed when the real holier-than-thou warriors take up arms in the name of the “responsibility to protect.” Newt Gingrich is so focused selling his updated version of “Red Dawn,” where American women are forced to wear the chador and the President is replaced by a Caliph, that he and his ilk haven’t noticed the progress of our very own secular jihadists, who are conducting a holy war – on an international scale — of political and moral “uplift.” As Rand Paul so cleverly put it the other day:

“I was happy to see that Newt Gingrich has staked out a position on the war, a position, or two, or maybe three. I don’t know. I think he has more war positions than he’s had wives.

“There’s a big debate over there. Fox News can’t decide, what do they love more, bombing the Middle East or bashing the president? It’s like I was over there and there was an anchor going, they were pleading, can’t we do both? Can’t we bomb the Middle East and bash the president at the same time? How are we going to make this work?” close quote

open quoteThe Clintonian wing of the Democratic party is determined to regain power, and Hillary’s push for war is the spearhead of the Restoration.close quote

open quoteOf course Libya is crawling with CIA, as well as British, French, and Italian spooks, and what they’re gathering is a lot more than “intelligence”: they’re out there collecting potential “leaders” among the rebels, choosing up sides, determining who will go on the payroll and who will be quietly sidelined or eliminated.close quote
