I realize that these issues have not been entirely ignored by the media – the Bosnia stuff, for example, made the news for a few days – but compare it to the rabid coverage of statements made by Obama’s former pastor. If pastors are so important, why don’t they cover the fundamentalist idiocy of McCain’s former pastors?
I’ll answer that: because Obama, despite his genuflecting to the powers that be, is a bigger threat to the establishment than McClinton. Obama hasn’t been around long enough to prove his loyalty, so his scandals are promoted. McClinton’s are buried.
a hopeful, if highly improbable, theory: the media pays relatively little attention to Clinton’s fuck ups because she is not going to get the nomination. even if she wins the last of the primaries, superdelagate support continues to switch to Obama. While I doubt the dems are actually wise enough to do this, Id like to think this race has been purposefully dragged out and dirty so that all the possible Obama scandals are brought to light and dealt with now, and a Fall Swift-boating can be avoided. meanwhile, mccain has made so many ridiculous and conflicting statements on so many issues, and the dems havent taken the opportunity to call him on them, so perhaps they are saving up them up for the real race.
